LEMON BALM
Is a beautiful member of the mint family that is used to make teas, and as a marinate for chicken and fish. It is also used in baked foods and jams.
Traditionally lemon balm was used to improve mood and cognitive function and can be inhaled as aromatherapy for those with Alzheimer’s disease. Also it is reported to help with insomnia if combined with valerian and drank as a tea before bed.
The plants will grow in part shade to full sun and aren’t too picky about where they grow.
Harvest the small white flowers to curb the seeds from flying all over your garden and becoming invasive.
